While my Café’ and Catering business in Rochester, NY, was up for sale, I created a spice blend company called Uncle Bud’s Blends – www.unclebudsblends.com. I sold the café and catering company so I could move closer to my 2 children and bring my start up blends with me. The search for a space to produce my blends morphed into Uncle Bud’s Place.
Uncle Bud’s Place is where you will find the finest Cajun, Creole, BBQ and homestyle foods. My name is Chris Buell, I am the Chef/Owner, and Uncle Bud’s Place is a tribute to my dad, Elmer “Bud” Buell. Stop by to learn about the Uncle Bud Story.
I started cooking at home with my dad at the age of 8 and spent 35 years as a professional chef and restauranteur. The food is a product of my dad’s teachings and how I expanded on those concepts as a chef. Some of the recipes are more than 50 years old! There is no fryer and there is no microwave, instead we cook with cast iron, we roast, we bake and we smoke, low and slow.
There is retail space where you can purchase all of Uncle Bud’s Blends, rubs, BBQ sauces, dressings and merchandise.
