The opening of McDonald’s makes Frontier Village the leader in dining offers with thirteen restaurants, the largest array of eateries in one location in the market.

The location, known as Pad A, was vacant for more than 20 years until McDonald’s approached the Tribe with the idea of developing new, state-of-the art store at the location. The restaurant is approximately 4,000 square feet and features a double-stack drive through.

It was all part of the Frontier Village 12 Days of Christmas celebration that included in-store give-a-way of gift cards and shopping prizes to the many holiday shoppers found in the Frontier Village stores, such as Home Depot, Ross, Target, Harbor Freight Tools, PetCo, Office Max, Planet Fitness, Nationwide Vision and many others.

Frontier Village tenants supported the effort and the Center’s owner, the Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe sponsored the event.

McDonald’s Brand Added to Frontier Village

mcdonaldsMcDonald’s is adding its brand to the Frontier Village pantheon of national brands. McDonald’s is a business success story in the United States and internationally and has two other restaurants in the local market. Construction began on the new location July 26th, 2013.

The McDonald’s Corporation website stated that as of June 2012, McDonald’s has, “More than 33,000 restaurants around the world in 118 countries. In the United States, there are more than 14,000 restaurants..” In 2007 there were 30,000 restaurants in 119 countries so in the intervening years, one McDonald’s country was lost.

The McDonald’s Corporation is the world’s largest chain of hamburger fast food restaurants, serving around 68 million customers daily in 119 countries. Headquartered in the United States, the company began in 1940 as a barbecue restaurant operated by Richard and Maurice McDonald; in 1948 they reorganized their business as a hamburger stand using production line principles. Businessman Ray Kroc joined the company as a franchise agent in 1955. He subsequently purchased the chain from the McDonald brothers and oversaw its worldwide growth.

A McDonald’s restaurant is operated by either a franchisee, an affiliate, or the corporation itself. The corporation’s revenues come from the rent, royalties and fees paid by the franchisees, as well as sales in company-operated restaurants. McDonald’s revenues grew 27 percent over the three years ending in 2007 to $22.8 billion, and 9 percent growth in operating income to $3.9 billion.

Frontier Village welcomes McDonald’s.
